Steve Madden

Various materials created for Steve Madden, Inc. and its affiliates. This brand incorporated several distinct sub-brands such a Steven and Madden Girl. They also owned several other brands and licensees (Superga, Betsey Johnson). This experience allowed me to design materials for each brand while still maintaining the style of the overarching umbrella. Though each brand had a distinct identity– Steve Madden as trendy, Superga as clean and classic, and Betsey Johnson as fun and wild– I employed contemporary design aesthetics such as flat color, clean type, and dynamic composition in all three brands.

Though most of the work I did for this fashion brand was digital, I did have a chance to work on a physical piece every now and then. The package design that I created for the suede cleaner allowed me to design not only a physical piece, but a 3-dimensional one. I was also responsible for supervising, art directing, and editing photos from several photoshoots. The results of these photoshoots were then featured in email blasts, look books, advertisements, postcards, and more.

Furthermore, this job allowed me to develop my illustration skills. Tasked with drawing Steve Madden’s best sellers, I decided to put my own spin on fashion sketches. Each drawing sought to highlight the trend in each shoe: studs, spikes, metallic pops, heels, etc.
