For the Zimmerman wedding identity, the bride requested illustrative, floral wedding collateral that utilized her color scheme of purple and grey. With the wedding taking place in early spring, I knew I wanted to incorporate pastel colors. The bride had a very friendly and laid back personality and appreciated a more homespun, rustic approach. I therefore hand-drew the curly floral elements while employing clean and sophisticated typography to complement them. To enhance the hand-drawn aspect, I retained a lot of the original texture of the physical sketch. Taking that one step further, I incorporated a soft and subtle watercolor texture background.
This look and feel was then applied to the wedding collateral. The save the date (photo by Weddings by Lee) introduced the leafy and linear elements which then developed further across the system. Materials created for the Zimmerman wedding included: save the dates, invitations, RSVP cards, reception cards, menus, and place cards. I worked closely with the bride to ensure that these pieces would complement the other event decorations and would fit in the venue environment.
This is one of the many wedding projects I’ve had the privilege to design. Feel free to check out other wedding branding projects.
