Outlander Book Series

When approaching the cover redesign for Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series, my goal was to create a cohesive visual identity that binds the collection together while honoring the story’s rich blend of history, romance, and time travel. Rather than treating each volume as a standalone piece, I established an overarching structural anchor centered on the shape of a doorway. This framing serves a dual purpose: it pays homage to the distinctive period architecture of the era while quietly echoing the ancient standing stones that carry Claire through time.

To bring depth and authenticity to the collection, I wove subtle Celtic symbols into both the graphic accents and the typography. By pairing these historic motifs with a unified approach to the cover illustrations—the design system transforms the Outlander novels into a striking, collectible series that feels both historically grounded and visually interconnected.
