For the Gillin wedding, the bride requested a design balancing sophistication, classiness, and quirkiness to reflect her personality. She originally stated that she wanted a contemporary design, but over time realized that she preferred a more traditional approach. The Gillin wedding took place in their backyard next to a barn and a beautiful cornfield. I wanted to communicate the intimacy of this affair from the start. However, despite the fact that this was an outdoor wedding and much of the decor was DIY, the bride wanted to maintain a certain level of refinement. I therefore utilized a rustic, warm color scheme, classic and elegant typography, and an unconventional composition with dynamic angles.
The monogram logo combined their initials in a simple but graceful way. The bride incorporated this throughout the wedding collateral on stamps, stickers, and printed materials. The materials designed for the Gillin wedding included: a logo, bridal shower invitations, wedding invitations, programs, and signage (program and sign photos by Nicole Michelle Photography). The signage featured hand lettered messages directing people to find their seats or sign the guest book. This further enhanced the DIY aspect of this charming backyard wedding.
This is one of the many wedding projects I’ve had the privilege to design. Feel free to check out other event branding projects.
